The really cool thing about shifting your energy from a negative state to a balanced, positive one is that the more you do it, the better you feel, and the easier it is to change your energy to one you want.
“The more we own our space from a place of ease and non-resistance, the less we take on and match other energies. But even when we slip or fall into our own funky mood, with awareness, we can shift our energy vibration easily.” Gini Grey
A friend asked me yesterday what if this only works for a little while and then she’s back in her slump, feeling stressed and anxious, unable to focus and shift her energy. My answer: take a deep breath and start over. I’m not sure why we all- I’m so guilty of feeling this- think this is one-time exercise. We need to eat everyday. We don’t just work out once and assume we’ll be fit, so why do we think one deep breath is enough in a blah day?
Here are the basics for changing your energy vibration. First, recognize you’re always in an energy state or vibration. And if you’re not liking what you’re experiencing, recognize what vibration you’re in… oftentimes we don’t recognize we’re vibrating at a very low frequency energy, like anger, sadness.
And here’s Gabriella Fry Chesneau’s advice: stop any outward focus, put your attention on your spine, move your energy up your spine, and make a higher connection. Do this when you’re with someone or in a situation that’s bringing you down, changing your energy, and remember choosing to absorb that mood is a conscious choice. Why would you consciously choose to constrict your energy? You wouldn’t. I’m very absorptive. I have a tendency to absorb the mood of a person, the energy of the room, to want to be part of the experience. But I’m doing myself and others no favor when I vibrate at a lower frequency so that I can better relate to whomever I’m with. Much better to raise their vibration by raising my own, right? So be conscious, be present (go back to the breath, focus on your spine, move the energy up from there, or make an intention).
If you feel your energy dip, what are your thoughts in that moment? The feeling comes first, before you can shift your energy, first identify that feeling, depressed, anxious, worried, sad, whatever it is… What was the thought that made the feeling bad? If you’re in a depressive state, you’re in the past. And if you’re feeling anxious, you’re in the future. When I’m either of these moods, I like to take that deep breath, with my feet on the floor, and ask myself how I feel RIGHT NOW. Because when you’re feeling blue, feeling anxious, in the past or the future, there’s nothing happening in your present moment. You just changed your perspective. And shifting perspective, shifts energy.
Another key thing I’m learning is that changing my energy is not this labored work; it’s fast; it’s easy. Moving my energy from constriction to expansion takes seconds (literally, sometimes a second) and then I feel back in alignment, back in connection with the oneness that we really never leave.
Here’s to deep breaths, shifting energy, and feeling good!
