I go to psychics. I have consulted with Tony LeRoy and of course Andrea Carrese but I’ve never been a believer in guides (spirit or otherwise), angels, sprites, fairies… well, you get the idea… until I talked to Andrea about what we would do for her two episodes of our Season 1. I wanted to do something about getting what you want in life. What You Really Want. Not, what I thought, was less than helpful advice like never think negative, always stay positive, imagine what you want all the time… all great advice in theory but how do you apply that in real life? I wanted real help. Andrea started to talk about her guides, and I guess I thought, well, why the hell not? I could use some help. We ALL could use a helping hand. And isn’t that what Happiness Series is all about?
So she goes on about her guides and how they help her all the time with everything. I mean, you could say they are the life blood of her business, of her work. They bring her answers to people’s questions. They tell her what a person needs to know. I should know that; I’ve gone to see Andrea. If there’s one thing you need to know, it’s that Andrea is GOOD. She knows what she’s talking about. If you’ve never been to a psychic and you’re curious, I think Andrea’s one of the best. So from whence did this wise counsel that Andrea offers come from? Her guides. How does she connect with these guides? When Andrea talked about her guides last August, I thought “let’s do an episode about that.” Even if I’m not sure it’s for me; it’s got to help others, right? And it is fascinating. So in the name of research (yeah, right, I wanted guides too!) I put the guides to the test. I did the 5 steps she talks about, and waited for a result, for a sign.
I asked for a big sign. Nothing. For a whole week. And then I kind of forgot about the guides. In the interest of prepping for our shoot with her, I talked to Andrea again, to clarify the steps and what we would tell our viewers. And she said something interesting, “you’re dealing with spirit world, you’re opening a new channel of communication. You have to start small. Ask for a small sign, nothing big, at least not in the beginning.” This made sense to me; I couldn’t wait to try it again. It’s so logical, right? Think about it: when you first starting dating someone, you don’t ask that person to move in with you, start a family, and then to retire Arizona 30 plus years from now. Do you? So back to the guides. I did my little thing; I meditated; I asked for a sign. Feathers. I wanted to see a feather. Before I had asked to see a hawk, as evidence of their existence. This time I started small. AND… I saw feathers. Everywhere. This emboldened me. Everyday, I asked my guides to “bring the right people to me.” And I added things, requests, big and small. And I kept seeing feathers. Everyday. If you’re eyes are open. You’ll be amazed at what you see. And what you receive.
I’ve a friend, and she’s going through a tough spot in her life. She is seeking. Answers, help, change. I suggested she try to connect with her guides. She said she would. I sent her last week’s video with Andrea’s first episode and the 5 steps recommended by Andrea. A week later she came over for dinner. I asked how it was working for her, the guides. She said she hadn’t seen the sign she asked for and she wondered if she was ready for something as “out there” as spirit guides. “What was your sign?” She said, “yellow flowers.” We were grilling outside, and I happened to be staring out at the garden. We both were. And there were yellow flowers everywhere. The mustard greens had flowered and were going to seed. You just gotta open your eyes, your ears, all your senses. The signs are out there. Ready, waiting for you to notice.
So HOW DO I talk to my guides? I’m not a psychic nor an expert like Andrea so I keep it simple and stick to my routine. I always talk to mine when I meditate. I say, in my head, “5, 4, 3, 2, 1” to signal to them I’m going to request help. And then I make my requests. I ask for the big ticket items, help with projects, work, managing my money. I ask for airline tickets at a certain fare–after the fares have gone up past what I’d like to pay. I ask for upgrades on flights. I ask for Everything & Anything. And sometimes I ask for signs. But not often. On bad days, when I’m a little blue, I’ll usually find a feather somewhere. I take that to mean that they’re around, and they’ve got my back. And these days, I talk to them all the time, beyond just my hour meditation. I try to remember to say “5, 4, 3, 2, 1” to alert them to a request but even when I forget, they are there helping. I’ll be in the car, and as I drive to yoga, I’ll say “parking space please, thanks!” Sometimes I sense them smiling. Not sure how I sense it but it’s an impression I get.
My point with this how to advice is that you get your method down, talk to your guides at your regular time, in your usual space, develop your relationship with them, and then go from there. Once the channel is open, it seems to me, the skies the limit. But you gotta open it. And open your mind and your senses to your guides. They’re out there. Smiling. Waiting.
Let us know what your signs are and how your guides have helped you. I would love to read and hear your stories of what your guides are doing for you. Let’s share our tips with everyone.
