5 (6, really) Steps to Getting What You Want in Life

I’ve been working on Happiness Series for about a year now, and when we shot Tony’s episodes, I felt my mind and heart open. I knew with these steps I would get clarity on my heart’s desire, and I would find the way to connect with the universe and get what I want. It was working. Well, that worked for about a month, and then my busy mind took over, worry, stress all became my partners in crime. We started editing Season 1 this past winter, and I hadn’t seen those Tony LeRoy videos in several months. I was busy putting together a website! Who cared about what I wanted, I needed help in my day to day stressful life. Well during editing I watched The Getting Your Heart’s Desire videos again, and I got back to basics. One, I accepted where I was in that moment. I was worried about money. Done. Accepted that. I moved on from there. I did the other 4 steps (plus the 6th, key one, of letting go of expectations). And things got better. Of course like most of you, I forget from time to time, these 5 steps, and about Acceptance, and about living in the Now and letting go of Expectations. It’s good to be reminded.

It’s not always that easy getting what you want and need, you’re thinking… It’s harder than everyone makes it sound. Well, if you’re living your life in the present, living in the NOW you’ve probably already gotten everything you want and need. BUT a lot of us are working on being in the present moment and we need a helping hand in getting what we want, finding our heart’s desire. So here at Happiness Series we did 3 videos with renown intuitive counselor, Tony LeRoy, in an effort to help us all figure out what our heart’s desire is and how to go about getting it. So unless you’re tapped into these 5 steps that Tony LeRoy developed for getting your heart’s desire, you’ve probably been where I’ve been (and still am at times!) and struggled to actually discover what it is YOU actually WANT.

That’s why we’ve replayed Tony’s videos this month; a new season is coming it’s good to review & renew! It’s given me an opportunity to go deeper into what makes me stress and worry so, and made me get clear about what I really, truly desire in my life. What I need and want. And it’s made me more present to my life. If I’m truly honest with myself and I’m in the moment, there’s not much to worry over. I accept what’s going in my life. I get real about what I want. I make a list in my head; I repeat it like a mantra, and then I let it go. I surround myself with those images, people, ideas that mirror what I want and need. And most importantly, I make time for myself. I practice meditation (something I’ve never done before!); I go to yoga; I hike in nature. And lastly, I’m really trying to let go of my expectations for how these desires will be manifested… of how my life should be. It hasn’t all happened yet so I can’t say it’s 100% working but I do feel happier, and I feel a sweet relief that I’m not in charge of it all. As Tony said, “let it go.”  And that’s happiness and freedom.
