I spoke to a friend today about the how to be a Walking Momtra™ book. I told him the chapter I was having the hardest time with (knock knock, it’s writers block can I come in and staaaay?) was the Practice chapter; the chapter that talks about seeing parenthood as a practice… each day building on the day before. It’s nice, no? But what we decided today was that it wasn’t about practice afterall…we decided I needed to get right to it! “Practice” was just part of it. We decided it wasn’t so much about practicing each day but DOing the best each day. And then, hitting repeat on that deliberate action every day. Doing the best we can. It’s all we’re responsible for (ok that and maybe picking up rolly-pollies from the sidewalk with our six-year-olds). DO. What thoughts does this bring about in you?
