So I’ve been busy.
Busy and focused on being a Mom, a branding coach, entrepreneur, writer and speaker. I will also add to that awesome egg a frame-maker.
Life is good, however, it does get full at times, yes? Sometimes I like to call it a full-time life.
But what’s most full-time about it is how good it can really be.
Even amidst craziness.
I realize there are three things that keep me centered…”self-centered” so then I can better contribute to the grounded feeling of my family. I’d like to share those three things with you here:
• Be grateful (see the things you’re grateful for in your minds eye). Being in gratitude allows us to be closest to love and closest to peace. Again, we get what we focus on…
• Take time to get outside. Getting outside helps you get out of your head. This could include things like going for a walk, going to the gym…anything you love that gets you into a different frame of mind. This not only helps you as the parent, the guide, oh wise one but helps the entire family. In it helping you see things differently when you walk in the door or when you’re in relationship with your kids, they show-up differently. The mood in the house changes…
• Call family meetings. Yes, you heard that right. Family meetings are the opportunity to discuss the current state of the union (where everyone is off to, what parent work trips are planned, setting expectations) not to mention to discuss the pit and peak of everyone’s day (listening to our kids is so very important). When you make family meals and meetings important and a part of the way your home “works” each week, something awesome happens…your family really does work better.
And really what these three things have in common are a taking care of both our own inner self and inner-working as well as being mindful on how we can best create a rich life for our families.
All good. So good.
